To understand TSRI’s processes, it is useful to examine the eight deliverables from a typical modernization project:

Set-Up – The JANUS Studio^® takes in legacy code with embedded comments and parses the legacy source code.
Legacy Documentation – The JANUS Studio^® produces a detailed presentation of the structure and flow of the legacy code.
Transformation – The JANUS Studio^® translates, compiles and links legacy code into the target language. An automation level of 100% is common.
System Integration – Converted code modules are integrated into a test-ready application. The working application contains an equivalent user interface, performs equivalent functions, and utilizes equivalent external hooks to the original legacy software package.
System Testing – TSRI tests source code with the customer’s test scripts and test plan. TSRI corrects any errors revealed during testing until source code is free of errors and fully operational.
Automatic Re-factoring –TSRI utilizes the JANUS Studio^® to identify and eliminate dead and redundant code.
Semi-Automatic Re-factoring – TSRI relies on a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assist in identifying opportunities to ease maintenance, improve performance, and web-enable the modernized system.
Transformation Blueprint ^® – The JANUS Studio^® produces a detailed presentation of the structure and flow of the legacy code AND the modern code for side by side comparison.
