Northrop Grumman selects TSRI for VB6 Modernization

Kirkland, WA. (June 15, 2012) – Northrop Grumman Information Systems (NGIS) has awarded a task order contract to The Software Revolution, Inc. (TSRI) to support their software modernization efforts associated with the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS). TSRI will automatically transform the Visual Basic 6.0 code of the legacy support systems into C# .Net. Under this task order TSRI will support NGIS's effort to update and improve the JMPS framework by modernizing the software to optimize computing resources and provide a more enhanced plug-in capability for components and applications.

The delivery order was awarded under the Mission Planning Enterprise Contract (MPEC) II through the Electronic Systems Center at Hasncom Air Force base in Massachusetts.

JMPS is a cooperative software development effort between the Air Force and Navy to centralize mission planning across military branches. Mike Twyman, Vice President of Integrated Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence Systems for NGIS said:

"Our history with JMPS goes back to the original architecture of the system, which gives us the insight into the "what" and "why" that is critical to making this effort a success..." He also mentioned: "Our innovative approach assures the framework will serve the war fighter well into the future while reducing the government’s total ownership cost"

Philip Newcomb, CEO of TSRI, stated:

"We are pleased to be working with NGIS on this important project to ensure better and more effective mission planning for our war fighters. We are also pleased that NGIS recognized the power of our JANUS Studio Toolset to address their transformation needs in the Visual Basic 6.0 modernization space and for the transformation of any other language source/target pairs that they may need in the future for this project."
