2002 - Expand its Operations

Kirkland, WA. (December 16, 2002) – The Software Revolution, Inc. (TSRI) plans to relocate to a new facility on 27 December 2002. The new facility is located in the Kirkland Corporate Center and the address is:
11332 Northeast 122nd Way
Kirkland, WA 98034

All company telephone numbers and web site information will remain the same. A map to our new facility will be posted on our web site.

Stanley Beckelman, TSRI's Chief Executive Officer said, "We are pleased to announce this move to a newer, more modern facility that will afford us 60% more space to meet our staff needs supporting our growing business base. At the same time, we have taken significant measures to assure that there will be no disruption to any on-going projects."

2002 - Prestigious Northrop Grumman Award

 

"TSRI Wins Prestigious Northrop Grumman Award"

Kirkland, WA. (December 13, 2002) – Northrop Grumman has honored The Software Revolution, Inc. (TSRI) with its prestigious "World Class Team Award" for outstanding support as a Northrop Grumman team member.

TSRI was recognized for its support to Northrop Grumman in the on-going modernization of the Air Force's Reliability & Maintenance Information System (REMIS). REMIS, a 3.1 million line-of-code COBOL-based system, was built to enhance the design of new Air Force weapon systems and to increase the readiness and sustainability of existing weapon systems by improving the availability, accuracy and flow of essential maintenance information.

Through the application of TSRI's highly automated and low-cost legacy system transformation and re-factoring processes, Northrop Grumman has successfully completed Increment 1 of the REMIS modernization project. Using TSRI's services, Increment 1 was completed far more rapidly and accurately, and at a far lower cost than could have been accomplished using traditional manual or semi-automated approaches.

2002 - Premera Blue Cross Expands

Kirkland, WA. (September 24, 2002) – Premera Blue Cross has expanded The Software Revolution, Inc.'s(TSRI's) contract to modernize their Automated Data Assembly System (ADAS). The expanded contract will employ TSRI's services to further optimize and enhance the functionality of the ADAS system recently transformed by TSRI from Wang-Cobol to C++.

2002 - REMIS Successfully Transformed

(September 17, 2002)In concert with Northrop Grumman IT, the Prime Contractor for the sustainment and modernization of the Air Force's Reliability & Maintainability Information System (REMIS). The Software Revolution, Inc. (TSRI) has successfully transformed the system's legacy Cobol code to modern, platform-independent C++.

REMIS, a 3.1 million line COBOL-based system, was built to enhance the front-end design of new Air Force weapon systems and to increase the readiness and sustainability of existing weapon systems by improving the availability, accuracy and flow of essential maintenance information.

2002 - AFCEA InfoTech Conference

(TSRI) is pleased to announce that it will be participating in the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (AFCEA) InfoTech 2002 Conference in Dayton, OH on October 22 - 24, 2002. This conference, addressing "Achieving Warfighter Integration & Decision Dominance", will give TSRI the opportunity to demonstrate its automated legacy system modernization technology and services to the wide variety of legacy system program managers present at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

As many of these managers have been in contact with TSRI regarding our ability to support their projects, TSRI will be offering an array of legacy language transformation demonstrations, some of which will include samples of code from existing Air Force maintenance systems.

2002 - NGIT - Mission Planning System

Kirkland, WA. (August 22, 2002) – Northrop Grumman IT (NGIT) has awarded a contract to The Software Revolution, Inc. (TSRI) to demonstrate its automated legacy system modernization process against the Ada code of an existing aircraft weapon electronics system. The weapon electronics system, along with many other such systems, will be future components of a new joint mission planning system.

Biography
Mr. Knapp is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where he earned a Masters of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics. His program management experience includes the successful direction of a wide variety of multi-million dollar programs for the: Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, U.S. Air Force, Aerospace Corporation, and Boeing. In addition, Mr. Knapp has practical experience in the development of artificial intelligence technologies and their application to legacy system modernization.

2002 - Dr. Cordell Green Joins TSRI

Kirkland, WA. (August 6, 2002) – The Software Revolution, Inc. (TSRI), a world-class provider of automated software modernization services for legacy systems, today announced that the company is fortunate to have elected Dr. Cordell Green to the Board of Directors. Dr. Green is the latest addition to the strong and experienced team overseeing the operations of TSRI.

Biography
Dr. Green is Chairman and CEO of Kestrel Institute, which he founded in 1981. Dr. Green developed the foundation theory for Logic Programming, which also formed the foundation for the Deductive Data Base field, as well as many formal, inference-based AI and planning systems. He has made several contributions to the field of program synthesis, including a paper that provided the basis for the Refine language, and a paper providing the basis for automated synthesis of software visualization.

Dr. Green's research interests center in the area of knowledge-based tools for software engineering. He has worked on systems that help to automate acquisition, analysis, and synthesis of software. His recent interests have been in automated algorithm design, synthesis of visual representations of software, and the role of automated design in software engineering.

2002 - NEA Applauds TSRI

 

"The National Endowment for the Arts' Applauds A Smooth Upgrade"

Kirkland, WA. (June 18, 2002) – In an article published on May 6, 2002 in Government Computer News (http://gcn.com/21_10/news/18601-1.html), The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) applauded the system modernization efforts of The Software Revolution, Inc. (TSRI).

Mike Burke, NEA's Chief Information Officer (CIO) praised TSRI for modernizing NEA's 650,000 line-of-code legacy Wang COBOL system, that included transforming 350 database tables from flat files to a relational database and creating more than 800 user screens for 140 users, in just seven months. As Burke said, 'It worked out of the box. We had to do very little tweaking'.
